Using the 8-cup Chemex Coffee Maker

The Chemex uses specific Chemex paper filters to be placed on top of the coffee maker.

To brew a successful Chemex coffee, don't forget:

A freshly ground coffee to enjoy all the flavours.

A gooseneck kettle to eavenly pour your water over the ground coffee.

A coffee scale with a stopwatch to measure the amount of water poured and the brewing time.

Note: remember to adapt your recipe according to the coffee/water ratio used.

The Chemex coffee maker was invented in 1941 by Dr Peter Schlumbohm PhD. As a permanent exhibition piece at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and other museums, Chemex is a true work of art. Chemex is a family business with a head office located in Western Massachusetts. This is where their coffee makers, filters, kettles and accessories are made before being distributed across the globe. The symbolic Chemex coffee machine has remained unchanged for 70 years, and this is set to continue.
